Four medical facilities in Mashonaland central namely, Shamva district hospital ,Bindura Provincial hospital, Rutope clinic and Glamorgen clinic will operate easily following a generous donation of hospital equipment worth nearly 5 000 dollars from the Danish Relief Group recently. The goods which included wheel chairs, hospital beds, side table, linen, uniforms among other essentials were officially handed over to the respective hospitals by a visiting Danish Relief Group representative.
Speaking at the hand over event the leader of the Danish delegation Else Hanne said “We are happy to make this contribution to the four hospitals in this part of the country. We know the health sector in Zimbabwe has been facing many challenges and we hope this gesture will go a long way in helping both the patients and staff “
Beneficiaries and hospital staff expressed their gratitude to the Danish Relief Group saying the generous donation came at a critical time when the medical facilities were struggling to fully service their clients due to the shortage of beds and other hospital equipment. In some facilities the situation was so bad that some patients were resorting to sleeping on the floors, a situation that is less than ideal for sick people.
DAPP Zimbabwe representative who is the Project Leader of Hope Bindura, Rebecca Njopera thanked the Danish Relief Group saying “We greatly appreciate the efforts by the Danish Relief Group which has been a key partner to our development work for many years. This relationship has seen many communities benefiting from their generosity and we are proud to be part of this great initiative.
