Child Aid Rushinga

Project Description

Child Aid Rushinga was established in 1994 with the main objective being to improve the living conditions of families through empowering them with basic skills in the area of health, agriculture and food security. The families are put on the forefront of all developmental activities in order to help the children. Families taking part in the activities are organised in units of 15-20 families led by a Family Coordinator.

Location

Child Aid Rushinga is in the Rushinga District of Mashonaland Central province.

Project Activities

Family units are mobilised start income generating projects to raise income to feed their children. Family households participate in small scale activities like soap making, bee keeping, sewing, peanut butter making, poultry rearing and communal gardens to generate income. Families pull their resources together to be able to fund these small-scale activities. Other activities include HIV/AIDS education and Orphan support.
