In order to improve the learning environment at four learning institutions the Danish Relief Group donated school furniture and supplies worth over 5 000 dollars
The goods which included desks and chairs, computer tables, computers, school bags, were handed over to Ponesai Vanhu Junior School, Ponesai Vanhu Technical College, Frontline Institute and Batanai School.
In handing over the equipment and supplies the head of Danish delegation Else Hanne said “ This school equipment will not only improve the learning environment of students but will allow teachers to have educational resources and equipment to help them to be better teachers.”
In addition she said “Donating old school desks and chairs is an earth-friendly initiative that will extend the useful life of your furniture and save trees”
Beneficiaries and teachers expressed their gratitude to the Danish Relief Group saying that the dignity of students has been restored and this is a first step to delivering quality education.
Ponesai Vanhu Junior School, Project Leader, Abigail Marira thanked the Danish Relief Group for the donation. Our children will no longer sit on floors while doing their school work.
